Your smartphone can do more and more these days, and it’s no surprise that your phone can be integrated with the 2018 Honda Odyssey for a host of applications like:
HondaLink: Honda’s signature mobile application, standard on the Touring and Elite trims, allows you to access vehicle diagnostic information like remaining fuel levels and range stats, locking and unlocking your doors, remote engine start, easy-to-read vehicle guides, a parking reminder so you never have to wander a parking lot looking for your Odyssey, roadside assistance, security alarm alert, a GPS-enabled stolen vehicle locator, and the ability to schedule service appointments all from your smartphone. You’ll even be able to set up a mobile hotspot in your Odyssey so your passengers can stay connected on the go.
CabinControl: This app allows up to eight passengers to easily add to the music playlist, control the rear cabin heat and air conditioning, and send destinations to the navigation system. CabinControl is standard on the Odyssey’s EX, EX-L, Touring, and Elite models.
The way we listen to music is changing rapidly. The Odyssey has the latest technologies to let you enjoy your audio entertainment the way you want and keep your mobile and entertainment devices juiced on the go.
Display Audio Touchscreen: This innovative touchscreen allows you to manage your music, podcasts, and navigation by touching, pinching, and swiping your way on the 8-inch display. EX, EX-L, Touring, and Elite drivers can take advantage of this feature.
Mobile Sync: Connect your compatible Apple or Android smartphone through Apple CarPlay or Android Auto to access directions, the ability to send or receive messages, and your music library using the Display Audio touchscreen.
Wireless Charging: No more fussing with a jumble of cords and adapters. Drivers who choose the Elite trim can charge their phones wirelessly just by placing their mobile device on the charging pad in the center console.
USB Connectivity: The whole crew can charge their USB-compatible devices with front and rear USB ports.
Technology in the Odyssey isn’t just for entertainment purposes. Honda engineers applied new technologies to make your drive a more comfortable and enjoyable experience.
CabinWatch: A night vision camera viewable on the Display Audio touchscreen allows you to keep an eye on your passengers any time of day or night. Standard on Touring and Elite.
Advanced Rear Entertainment System: Standard on EX-L w/Navigation, Touring, and Elite models, the system features music and video streaming, a large 10.2-inch display for easy viewing from the second and third rows, and the How Much Farther app, which displays data from the navigation system as a fun animated scene within a half hour of your destination.
CabinTalk: Speak directly to rear passengers and override RES-connected headphones on the Elite model, and be heard through the rear speakers. This feature allows for easy communication between the driver and passengers. Available on the EX-L w/Navigation, Touring, and Elite models.
Advanced safety is achieved through several driver-assistance technologies as part of the Honda Sensing application suite, including:
Lane Keeping Assist: This system adjusts the steering automatically when drifting out of your lane is detected.
Adaptive Cruise Control: ACC helps you maintain a safe speed and distance when approaching other vehicles, avoiding the need to manually adjust speed.
Collision Mitigation Braking System: Can detect imminent collisions and apply the brakes accordingly when a vehicle is detected in front of you.
Road Departure Mitigation System: A small camera calibrated to recognize road markers alerts you if you’re about to leave the roadway and can take action such as acceleration and steering correction to return you to a safe path of travel.
